Our Ethos

‘Igniting Your Inner Strength’ embodies what Firestone Fitness is all about, encompassing both your mind and body. Believing in yourself, with the right support, will ignite your mental strength and empower you to develop your physical strength, and vice versa! 

About Polly

I’ve always loved keeping myself fit and active, right back from childhood when I was obsessed with netball and sprinting. I took this through university where I became a gym goer and aerobics enthusiast! Post Uni I took off travelling round the world for a year, before settling into a career in International Development. This path enabled me to live and work in Uganda for 3 years, with extensive working travel around sub-Saharan Africa.

Post children, my previous career wasn’t quite so practical, so I looked to develop a new path based on my strong values of good health and fitness, and a love of connecting with people from all walks of life. So I became a Personal Trainer, then subsequently a Pilates teacher. I’d been a business trainer in my previous career, so I wasn’t such a left field choice really!

I practice what I preach and keep myself fit with regular strength and Pilates sessions, and still love running. I am a member of the Tunbridge Wells Harriers and have pushed on from my 100&200m childhood sprinting to run 3 marathons: Brighton, Yorkshire, and Edinburgh. My love of running connected me back full circle with my passion for travel and Africa (in particular), and it took me out to Malawi 2 years in a row to undertake the Orbis Challenge with (my now dear friend) Dame Kelly Holmes. Both trips were incredibly rewarding, raising much needed funds for 2 very worthy local Malawian causes, and making some wonderful friends along the way! 

As a fitness coach, I strive to be the best I can possibly be and offer you the quality of service and care that you deserve!
